Check in with yourself. How are you feeling? What do you need?
Checking in with our feelings is a purposeful action. Our feelings can act as guideposts to help us identify and navigate our needs. Notice: What is your inner landscape communicating?
"Emotion, which is suffering, ceases to be suffering as soon as we form a clear and precise picture of it." -Victor Frankl
The Feelings Wheel

The feelings wheel is a great tool to assist you in getting to know your feelings. Start from the center of the wheel and work your way out to narrow down exactly what you are experiencing.
Befriend your Inner Landscape
Try to resist judgement when you recognize a feeling. Avoid making meaning of the feeling you identify, in other words there is no "because" (as in I am feeling this way because of XYZ). The point is to simply notice what you are experiencing in the present moment, choose what to do with it once it is felt, and then take action based on your choice.
Invitation
I invite you to utilize the feelings wheel 3x a day for one week. Log whatever feeling you identify with. At the end of each day brainstorm what these feelings may be communicating in terms of unmet needs. You can use this list to help guide future action.
